I’ll be reading from The Shadows We Mistake for Love at Vancouver’s People’s Co-op Bookstore, 1391 Commercial Dr., on Friday, June 24 at 7 p.m.

Also on the bill is Hamilton, ON writer and jazz musician David Neil Lee, who will be reading from his young adult fantasy novel The Midnight Games.

The bookstore has a family connection for me—founded in 1945 as an outlet for progressive books, the store was for many years managed by the eccentric Binky Marks, a friend of my parents from their days as activists in the Toronto left.
